Agency ceases operations and appoints insolvency team to…

A two-branch letting agency in Hertfordshire has gone out of business and announces that it will soon be placed in voluntary liquidation from creditors.

A statement on the Pendley Estates website says its trustees have asked partners at Buchler Phillips Group LLP to help with this process – all known creditors will be contacted shortly.

The agency’s website directs tenants to “Please contact your landlord and arrange for your future rent payments to be made directly to your landlord.”

In the meantime, it tells landlords to contact tenants “and arrange for future rent payments to be made directly to your own bank account”.

Owners are also advised that they will be receiving details of the proposed voluntary creditor liquidation process shortly, and are invited to send their most recent contact details to [email protected]

Pendley, which does not appear to respond to emails or phone calls, has its website still up and running but with less detail than usual.

Pendley Estates had been in operation for around 35 years, but a report says the sudden closure is leaving around 200 landlord deposits unprotected, and many landlords uncertain about paying monies owed.

Letting Agent Today has contacted Buchler Phillips Group LLP for comment.
